A set number of cards—typically seven or ten, depending on the number of players—are dealt to each player. In order to create a draw pile, the remaining cards are arranged face down, arummy paisa apknd the discard pile is initiated by turning the top card face up. Players alternately draw cards from the discard or draw piles in an effort to form melds, which are groups of three or more cards that are either consecutively ordered or of the same rank. Players have to strategically choose which cards to keep and which to discard as they move through their turns.
